This whole truth series has been challenging for me. God has been challenging the way I think about everything...music, money, and the way I spend my time, just to mention a few things. We have been brain washed by the message of the world for too long. The Bible tells us that we need to stop conforming (thinking, acting, sounding like) to the pattern of the world, and be transformed by the renewing of our minds. That means when it comes to certain topics we need to erase what we have heard from the world and look to the Bible for answers. After all, it is our manual for living.
With that being said...I talked about sex last night. The devil tells us lies that we believe all the time. Lies like: it's your body and you can have sex if you want to, you can fool around and still be a virgin, and sex is evil. The truth is that you were bought with a price (Jesus died on the cross for our sins), we need to FLEE from ALL sexual immorality, and that God created sex to be ENJOYED inside a marriage relationship. Any sexual sin that we have committed causes us to become defiled and we need the blood of Jesus Christ to wash us clean. He gives us His commandments for our own protection, and as Jeanne Mayo says, "We are free to ignore the commands of God, but we are never free to avoid the consequences." We can either listen to God and walk in His protection or we can disobey Him and face the consequences like STDs, pregnancies, and long term emotional scarring. God wants us to be faithful to Him and our spouse.

Truth about Dating
Two Wednesdays ago, I talked about dating and how we have come to accept the world's way or standard for dating. The Bible doesn't even mention the word dating or courtship, and it is very clear that we should not stir up or awaken love until it is time. The problem with dating is that it stirs up emotions and passions within us that we can't control. Those passions and emotions, when acted upon, cause us to fall into sexual immorality and therefore we defile our bodies. It is very easy to go from kissing, to making out all the time, to touching in private places, and eventually sex.
Dating messes you up emotionally and places the wrong value on a person and relationships. God wants us to focus on Him first, others second, and keep our selves pure until marriage. If we do that, then God will meet all of our needs, and we will build relationships (inside friendships) that last.
How do you view dating? Why do you think people date?
